Police Officer Who Hired A Friend To Get His Wife Pregnant Takes Him To Court For Failing To Impregnate Her After 77 Times

A strange case in Tanzania has shocked many after a man took his friend to court for failing to get his wife pregnant, despite being paid to do so.

Darius Makambako and his wife Precious had been struggling to have children for years. Doctors told Darius that he was infertile, and in desperation, he turned to his neighbour and friend, Evans Mastano. The two men struck an agreement in which Evans would try to father a child with Precious in exchange for 2,000,000 Tanzanian shillings.

For ten months, Evans visited the couple’s home three evenings each week. Reports say he made more than 75 attempts, but Precious never became pregnant. Frustrated, Makambako demanded a medical examination for Evans. Tests later revealed that Evans was also infertile.

The case took an even stranger twist when Evans’ wife admitted that the two children she had at home were not his. She confessed that they had been fathered by Evans’ cousin.

Makambako is now suing his friend for breach of contract and wants his money back. Evans has argued in court that he never promised pregnancy, only that he would try.

The unusual story has drawn widespread attention, raising debate over culture, desperation, and the limits of private agreements between friends.
