Border officials at Malenya crossing point detained Pastor Fanish Ramsey Maloba yesterday. The 26-year-old church leader carried a suspicious black bag containing a two-meter snake.
“The snake manifested during prayers to cast out demons in Uganda,” Pastor Maloba explained. He claimed spiritual forces compelled him to transport it to his Apostle Ministry Church in Matayos.
Officers discovered the reptile during a routine security check at the border point. The snake attempted to slither away while startled officials scrambled to contain it.
Pastor Maloba failed to produce any documentation for transporting the live snake. The clergyman stated he had traveled to Uganda specifically for spiritual intervention.
“These demons have been tormenting me for long,” Pastor Maloba told security officers. He insisted the snake emerged supernaturally during his exorcism session across the border.
Kenya Wildlife Service rangers arrived at the scene to handle the situation. They took custody of the snake while authorities detained the pastor.
Police transferred Pastor Maloba to Mayenje Police Station for questioning. The pastor maintains his supernatural explanation about the snake’s origins.
Border security chief confirmed the unusual morning incident at Malenya crossing. Officers continue investigating circumstances surrounding the pastor’s bizarre snake transport attempt.
The snake now remains under KWS custody for proper handling. Meanwhile, Pastor Maloba awaits further questioning at the police station.
Authorities say this marks the first such incident at the busy border point. Pastor Maloba leads services at Apostle Ministry Church located in Matayos area.
