Catholic Sister Dismissed From Church After Exposing How Priests Chew Them Nonstop Behind Church

A Catholic reverend sister has been dismissed from her congregation weeks after she went viral for exposing how some priests mistreat nuns.

Reverend Sister Shako Annastasia previously called out priests against preying on reverend sisters or using them as their wives.

Sister Shako had shared a bold post on Facebook where she spoke about the struggles many religious sisters go through. In her message, she said that priests often treat nuns as if they are their wives or companions, instead of respecting them as fellow servants of God.

In the post, Annastacia explained that nuns are not “ornaments in habits” or “commodities for priests to use.” She wrote about painful experiences where some priests use spiritual guidance as an excuse to take advantage of sisters. She also said that many nuns suffer silently from manipulation and disrespect within the church.

Her words drew wide attention online, with many people praising her courage. But only weeks later, Annastacia received a letter dismissing her from the Congregation of Mother of Perpetual Help of the Archangels Sisters (MOPHAS) in Nigeria.

In a follow-up post, she revealed that she was officially dismissed on September 24, though the letter was dated July 21. She said she was given a token of USH 230,000 and found her belongings packed outside her residence, while her religious items had already been taken away. Annastacia did not explain the official reason for her dismissal, but she thanked everyone who had stood by her in prayer and support during the ordeal.

Her dismissal has sparked strong reactions online. Supporters encouraged her to stay firm, with many saying she had spoken the truth that others were too afraid to admit. Some praised her for leaving with a clear conscience, while others said God would reward her courage and open new doors in her life.

Despite the pain of losing her position, Annastacia remains grateful for the love and encouragement she has received, saying it has given her strength to move forward.
