The people of Dokolo District are in grief following the sudden death of their Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Godfrey Epere.
Epere was discovered lifeless on Sunday, September 21, 2025, in a room at Bistro, Lira City. The exact cause of his death has not yet been confirmed, and investigations are ongoing.
Family members say he came from the Otengoro Olang Clan, with his ancestral home in Acandek Village, Aboko Parish, Aduku Sub-county, Kwania District.
News of his passing spread quickly across Lango Sub-region, leaving colleagues, friends, and fellow civil servants in shock. Many described him as a committed officer who worked tirelessly for the development of Dokolo and for the improvement of public service in Uganda.
Plans for his burial are being organized, and the family together with district leaders will release more details soon.
His death is being felt as a heavy blow not only to Dokolo District, where he served faithfully, but also to the wider local government community in Uganda.
