Born on September 21, 1997, in St. Matiya Mulumba village, Mayuge District, Jovia Mutesi has emerged as a cultural icon in Uganda as the fifth Inhebantu (Queen) of the Busoga Kingdom.
The daughter of Stanley Bayole and a member of the Anglican faith, Mutesi is now part of one of Uganda’s most revered traditional institutions.
Her royal journey officially began on November 18, 2023, when she married His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, the reigning Kyabazinga (King) of Busoga.
The lavish wedding, held at Christ’s Cathedral in Bugembe, drew an impressive array of dignitaries and citizens, highlighting the deep cultural significance of the union.
According to Tatler, the ceremony was an “enormously well-attended” event, marking a new chapter for the kingdom.
Before stepping into royal life, Mutesi pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Makerere University.
