Police in Uganda are investigating the deaths of two individuals killed by unidentified assailants in Kikamulo sub-county, Nakaseke. The victims, Specioza Nakato, aged 46, and her four-year-old granddaughter Sheila Birabwa, were attacked by unknown perpetrators. Nakato was strangled, while Birabwa was beaten to death.
Many Ugandans expressed condolences on social media, speculating that the killings may be linked to a land dispute. Numerous reports from the public suggest that land-related conflicts frequently result in murders among family members.
In a separate incident, the Uganda Police Force confirmed the arrest of over seven suspects involved in the murder of Police Constable Suleiman Chemonges in Ibanda District. Chemonges was killed by a mob during the burial of an inmate who reportedly died under unclear circumstances while in police custody.
